We want educational stakeholders and instructors to think deeply and question how they meet the needs of their
digital learners. WHY they do what they do. Start with WHY, inspire with WHAT learning could look like, and
consider HOW to get there by integrating new tools such generative AI.

An engaging learning broadcast that focuses on big-picture ideas for trends in education to prepare our students for
College and Career Readiness in THEIR world. The broadcast will be put into action through a showcase of

baseball from the “Gatekeepers” in the creative tech economy.

We seek to transform the economic landscape for the next generation of digital leaders by connecting
under-resourced groups with education, experiential, and career opportunities in the
creative-tech-media-entertainment sectors in Los Angeles County, the most diverse county in the country.

Simply put, it’s a call to action called the Digital Pathway Initiative

Dakar is partnering with the Los Angeles Regional Consortium (LARC) to ensure employers have access to skilled workforce that is
representative of local, diverse talent, and that talent from underserved communities – particularly those who experience systemic
barriers to living-wage career pathways – have access to high-demand, living-wage careers. To do so, Dakar works with L.A.’s top
employers in Digital Media and Creative Tech to develop and sustain strong partnerships with L.A.’s 19 community colleges.

Dakar does this by:

Engaging industry employers in providing product-based learning, including paid work experience, to students through Federal WIOA
grants and State of California Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship program grants in emerging Digital Media Career Pathways –
thereby increasing their engagement and investment in community college training programs and introducing them to this talent pool;
and working with colleges to facilitate student participation in work-based learning opportunities provided by industry employers and
professionals.

The LARC Partnership is supported and sponsored by the Carl D. Perkins 1B Grant.
